Pretty Thing on Public Transit in Portugal (PT on PT in PT)

I learned three things in Portugal:

1. Buses do not stop just because you're standing at the bus stop looking hopeful.
2. Apparently there is such a thing as a euro coin that's too disgusting to accept.
3. I have a tendency to mistake being new for being incapable.

The first two lessons were specific to Portugal.

The third has followed me everywhere.
